Tony Chestnut

During the Flannel Board presentations at the workshop in South Carolina, I heard some wonderful new songs. One of them was Tony Chestnut, which was taped and uploaded to YouTube. Have a look at this cool song:

Try it some time at your library!

  1. Hi Betsy!
My teenage son helped me figure out how to post a comment here. I was in your class at the State Library in South Carolina last Thursday and I just wanted to reiterate here how much I enjoyed your training and how inspiring it was to me. I have not had a baby storytime at my library because I didn't feel confident that I knew what I was doing and also because we have NO programming space at our library. But after this workshop I feel very confident that I can follow the MGOL script and really benefit the babies and parents in our community. I plan to "rope off" our periodicals area one morning every week to reserve it for our class. I also am very happy about what you said about just having the class same time every week and not worrying about registration...I've tried that with other activities and it didn't work. I believe that if parents know it will be the same time same day every week, they will come! I plan to keep visiting your site and learning as much as I can. (And the other thing I want to say, and I hope you don't mind, is how approachable and down-to-earth you are. I'm always intimidated when I find out our instructor "wrote the book" on the topic, but you create a level playing field for all of your students--I guess we adult students aren't that different from the babies--and it's nice to know that you still give all of us the opportunity to tap our names on the drum, so to speak. Thanks again! Cathy Pruett, Youth Services Librarian, Marion County Library
